Kiku Takashi (菊孝) is a budget brand under Aoki Hamono, primarily focused on culinary school students and budget users. While lack of the usual "fit and finish" that western users care a bit more, the Kiku Takashi brand really focus on the core function of the blade: uncompromised cutting performance, and they do so with the lowest cost possible. Made using Japanese high carbon steel by skilled craftsmen in Sakai, I personally find their performance really well so I decided to carry this line. It would be great for those looking to give Japanese traditional knife profiles a try without spending too much or for those looking to be as practical as possible.
