Refund policy

At Knives and Stones, we take great care in offering only the finest handmade Japanese knives and accessories, and every item is inspected before dispatch. If you are not satisfied with your purchase, the terms below apply.

1. Change-of-mind returns & exchanges

• We accept returns and exchanges within 14 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original, resellable condition.
• Returned items are subject to a 3% handling fee.
• You are responsible for arranging safe return shipping, and the original outbound shipping cost (including the actual shipping cost on orders that shipped free) is deducted from the refund.
• Once the returned item has been received and inspected, you may choose a refund to your original payment method or store credit.
• Products with custom variations (unique handles, engravings, custom profiles) and special orders are non-refundable.
• Handmade knives vary: small imperfections, differences in wood grain and variations in damascus pattern are normal and are not defects. Packaging may differ from other vendors; this is not grounds for return.

2. Faulty or damaged items

If your product arrives damaged or defective, we accept full responsibility. We will provide a prepaid return label and a replacement or full refund at no cost to you. No handling fee applies.

3. K&S coupons

K&S coupons (including KNSR reward coupons) are one-off and cannot be refunded or reissued, unless the product is faulty.

4. Refund processing

• Refunds are processed once the returned product has been received and inspected.
• If you request a cancellation before dispatch, we are happy to oblige. Even when we cancel and refund immediately, your bank may take up to 2 weeks to return the funds — payment processing times are controlled by your financial institution.

5. International orders

• Customs duties, taxes and fees are non-refundable.
• Return shipping remains your responsibility unless the product is faulty or incorrect.
