Kitayama 8000 Grit Water Stone (Finising Stone, Baseless)

$119.00
Tax included Shipping calculated at checkout.

Free shipping for knives over AU$200 Australia wide.

The famous Imanishi Kitayama is now back Knives and Stones, in a form of popular baseless version. Kitayama is one of the favourate stones for a lot of carbon lovers. While it is not extremely quick on modern alloy steels it does work extremely well on traditional carbon steels like the Hitachi Shirogami (White steel) and Aogami (Blue steel). It requires about 15 minutes of soaking before use, but once soaked, it produces a very nice and even finish which is particularly nice for wide-bevel sharpening; it also brings out the contrast between the Hagane (core-steel) and Jigane (soft cladding).

The baseless version is popular because of its reduced shipping weight, means reduced cost for customers; user can also sharpen on both sides of the stone.

Size: 205mm x 75mm x 25mm

Grit: 8000
