柴田崇行是一位研磨師、品牌負責人，同時也是 IRONCLAD Ltd.（株式会社アイロンクラッド）的社長，公司位於廣島縣福山市。根據其個人網站所述，他15歲時離開學校成為木匠學徒，之後曾在鐵工廠工作，並於2006年創立柴田刀具，隨後推出自己的品牌。
